Toyo Tires has introduced a slew of 20-inch tires that are aimed at late-model, high-horsepower Mopars.
The new rubber, which include several sizes of Toyo’s Proxes R888R and Proxes RR, have been specially designed for both enthusiast-built and competition-driven Mopars such as the Dodge® SRT Hellcat Charger and Challenger.
The 100-treadwear Toyo Proxes R888R is a DOT-legal competition tire that reaches optimal operating temperature quickly to deliver predictable handling. Sizes for late model Chargers and Challengers include: 285/35ZR20, 305/35ZR20, 315/30ZR20 and a 325/30ZR20.
The 40-treadwear Toyo Proxes RR is a DOT competition tire designed for tracks. With consistent lap times and predictable handling, it is ideal for SCCA® road racing, track days and high-performance driving schools. The symmetric 2-groove tread design and tread compound yield a maximum contact patch and provide ultimate dry traction with superior cornering force. They are offered in the following sizes: 255/35ZR20, 285/35ZR20, 315/30ZR20 and 325/30ZR20.
“During the recent 97th running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, Wesley Motorsports selected the 285/35ZR20 Proxes RR as the optimum tire for use on their 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody Concept,” says Marc Sanzenbacher, senior manager, motorsports, Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. “Toyo is the only manufacturer producing a 285/35ZR20 2-groove DOT competition tire for late model Dodge vehicles, and they proved to be both fast and consistent over the 156-turn 12.42-mile mountain road. The Proxes RR is also a great choice for Time Attack events, road racing and HPDE classes.”
