This Guy 3D Printed His Own Engine

3d Printed Toyota Engine

This puts those Revell model car kits you used way to much glue to assemble when you were a kid to shame.

This guy used a 3d printer to build his own Toyota 22RE four cylinder engine. He says that he completely reverse engineered the engine and it has a working crank, pistons and valve train. All the parts were printed in the 3d printer except for “a few bearings and fasteners.”

In all, we’re told it took three days of printing to make the engine, including 34 hours alone just for the block. And so with all the cool engines in existence, why did he choose a Toyota four-banger? Because that’s just what happened to be in his garage to work from!
