At the end of the 2017 racing season, there were several competitors in the NHRA Stock Eliminator ranks that were flirting with the magical seven-second barrier. The offseason was an intense thrash for those trying to be the first to light the boards with a seven-second pass by extracting every ounce of performance out of their machine. So far, Geoff Turk has been the only person to push a Stocker into the sevens, and in this video, he shares how the Holley EFI system helped make that happen.

When Turk laid down a 7.97 during testing at the NMCA season opener in March he made every Factory Stock Showdown/Factory Super Cars class racer know he was capable of being one of the first to do it in competition. During the first round of qualifying, he did just that with a 7.99 to become the first in the sevens, and the first member of the Holley EFI 7-Second Club. Turk backed that number up again during the NMCA Atlanta race on his way to the runner-up spot at that event.

A big part of Turk’s success is being able to control the sledgehammer-like BES power his 2015 Dodge Challenger throws down. To get that ultimate level of tuning for his Mopar, Turk turned to the team at Holley and added one of their Dominator ECU systems to his car. In this video, Turk — still the only member of the 7-second club — discusses the immediate impact the Dominator made on his ability to tune the car, and how robust the functionality within the unit really is.
