Performance isn’t limited to just muscle cars anymore. Dodge owners looking for more performance to enjoy daily driving, or the occasionally tow and haul, with their 6.4-liter Hemi Durango now have the option to bolt on a supercharger system from ProCharger.
The ProCharger supercharger system gives the Durango an additional 200 horsepower while running on pump 91 and 93 octane gas. The complete system makes use of a highly efficient P-1SC-1 head-unit, and a large grill mounted air-to-air intercooler. The system bolts onto the Durango without cutting, trimming, or making any irreversible modifications to the SUV.
For those wanting to push the limits of horsepower, ProCharger also offers a ‘Tuner Kit.’ The kit requires custom tuning and a professional installer with custom tuning capability, but it allows the installer to specify what ProCharger head unit they would like to use and the boost/power level they would like to achieve. With the kit, the tuner can experiment with alternative fuels and change engine components like heads, headers, exhaust, and cams.
Optional head-unit choices range from the new P-1X, available for systems and tuner kits, all the way to F-1A-94 units capable of 1,200 horsepower. The ProCharger supercharger head-unit and bracket come finished in either satin aluminum, polished aluminum, or wrinkle black for a more rugged look. Additionally, the head-unit can be outfitted with two different styles of internal gear-sets: standard gears and helical “quieter” gears for a more subtle tone.
Currently a system is in development for the 5.7-liter engine in the Durango. The ProCharger System and Tuner Kit are available to start shipping, but it is important to note the Tuner kit is not legal for street use in California. Complete systems that are approved for street use in California will have an associated CARB EO# for compliance.
