Swedish hypercar manufacturer Koenigsegg will be displaying its current 249mph mid-engined Agera next to its predecessor, the CCX during the Silverstone Classic, held at Silverstone, July 20-22. Additionally, Italian automotive maestro Pagani will be showing off its latest Huayra alongside its iconic older offering, the Zonda.
The event is set to attract over 100,000 visitors who no doubt will be dazzled by the spectacular Supercar Legends Presented by Yokohama Showcase.
This major attraction will be based right in the heart of the venue’s International Paddock, and will feature contemporary exotic speedsters from leading supercar manufacturers as well as a model from each manufacturers’ past.
British firm TVR will be out in force too, celebrating its recent rebirth with a pair of Griffiths, their model from the sixties, along with the marque’s latest Gordon Murray designed newcomer.
Joining these hypercar manufacturers will be more mainstream manufacturers, all with sports car bona fides. Ford’s latest GT will be featured with their 2004 homage to the legendary 1960s Ford GT40 Le Mans winner.
Representing Japan, both generations of the Honda NSX will be displayed, and Lexus’ new LC500 will be alongside their fabulous LF-A.
Further amazing attendees will be a supercar experience on Saturday with the collection being fired up for a memorable parade lap of the full Silverstone Grand Prix track.
“This new Supercar Legends celebration really is the best of both worlds,” said Event Director, Nick Wigley. “Visitors get to see the most exciting and celebrated machines from past eras together with some of today’s greatest creations; the classics of the future… all in one great big mouth-watering gathering. It’s going to be something very special that I’m sure will evolve into yet another of the many, many crowd-pleasing highlights at the annual Silverstone Classic.”
Aside from the Yokohama showcase, visitors can expect to see over 10,000 classic cars, an incredible on track display of race cars of all types including Formula 1 and Le Mans cars, and a huge array of family entertainment and fabulous food, drink, and musical entertainment.
