Continuing its strong participation in off-road racing, Falken Tire, the manufacturer of high performance on- and off-road tires, has announced its partnership with driver and TV personality Jessi Combs, who will be competing in the new Spec 4700 Class at King of the Hammers as well as the entire Ultra4 West Series. Combs will be piloting a Jeep Wrangler-bodied tube chassis fitted with factory-supported Hemi motors and running on Falken’s new 37-inch M/T-series tires for the Kind of the Hammers event.
You may know Combs from the many television shows she’s been a part of, but she’s also very accomplished behind the wheel. Combs became a metal fabricator with a degree from WyoTech in Custom Automotive Fabrication. Her skills and outgoing personality were quickly noticed and Combs became a regular contributor to such popular television programs as Xtreme 4×4, 2 Guys Garage, Mythbusters, Overhaulin’and All Girls Garage. Her racing pedigree has been buoyed with a podium finish at the 2011 Baja 1000 and through her regular involvement in King of the Hammers for three out of the past four years. In 2013, she became the “fastest woman on four wheels” with a land speed record of 392.954 MPH.
“We are thrilled to have Jessi join our team of factory-supported drivers, carrying the Falken colors in the new Spec 4700 Class,” stated Nick Fousekis, Director of Motorsports Marketing. “Having the fastest woman on four wheels in our corner strengthens our efforts and goals in building the Falken brand as the choice high performance tire – in competition and recreation.”
“We’ve seen Jessi compete and the pure driving skills she brings to the table are absolutely amazing,” stated Nestor Cabrera, Falken Tire’s Off-road Supervisor. “Her training, experience and knowing how to set the car up will be the keys to her and Falken’s mutual success.”
The Ultra4 Spec 4700 Class will be managed by Hammerking Productions, the parent company of Ultra4 and the popular, annual King of the Hammers event. The spec vehicles – identical Jimmys 4×4-designed tube chassis– will run on Falken’s new 37-inch tires. The class will race on Thursday of the 2014 King of the Hammers week, the same day as the Every Man Challenge event.
