Centerforce Clutches Has New Kit For Late Model Modified Mustang

Centerforce Clutches, a leading manufacturer of performance clutches for classic and late model cars and trucks, released its new DYAD XDS Twin Disc clutch kit for highly modified late model Mustangs equipped with an aftermarket Tremec T-56 Magnum transmission. According to Centerforce, the kit features a superior clamp load over stock with light pedal pressure and smooth engagement due to its  Ball Bearing Pressure plate, centrifugal weights and twin disc design.

The Mustang DYAD XDS Twin Disc Clutch Set (Part # 415114805) has been specially developed to meet the needs of even the most highly modified cars. This fully dampened clutch system was developed for vehicles pushing extreme power levels after the addition of turbochargers, a supercharger, or nitrous. The DYAD XDS can handle up to 1,600 foot-pounds of torque, while only weighing 48.5 pounds – a full 16 pounds lighter than stock. The pressure plate is equipped Centerforce’s patented Centrifugal Weight System for superior clamp load over stock and its patented Ball Bearing pressure plate which provides light pedal effort.

The dual clutch discs in the DYAD XDS feature metallic paddle/button-style friction material for superior holding capacity and longevity. Due to the aggressive nature of the metallic material, vehicles may experience some chatter during operation, but the patented Floater Anti-Rattle System helps keep the clutch quiet at idle. The DYAD XDS clutch kit includes a 164 tooth, 0 inch per ounce counterbalanced lightened billet steel flywheel that provides low inertia resulting in greatly increased throttle response.

This clutch kit is available for the 1996-2004 Mustang GT, Mach 1 and SVT Cobra equipped with the 4.6L 2-valve Windsor (X VIN) with the 8-bolt crankshaft, 4.6L 32-valve, or supercharged 4.6L 32-valve engines; the 2011-2016 Ford Mustang GT equipped with the 5.0L 32-valve engine; and the 2012-2013 Boss 302 equipped with the 32-valve engine. This clutch kit is also only compatible with vehicles that have been equipped with an aftermarket T-56 Magnum transmission.
