When driving is in your blood, a profound connection with your favorite machine and the joy of driving is something that you’ll never quite shake. For this competition driver, an old 1997 Viper GTS is the one car I formed a long-term love affair with. Naturally, I have accrued many stories in a decade of ownership and regular use as a daily driver and people take notice when you daily drive an exotic car.
Recently, I was introduced to Ed Bolian of Cannonball Run record fame by a past Genius Garage student of mine. Ed is an exotic car owner and businessman in Atlanta, Georgia, who once made the drive from New York to Los Angeles in 28 hours and 50 minutes. He has a hugely popular YouTube channel called VinWiki where he and other people tell incredible car stories. Exotic car lifestyle comes to life with those crazy stories that can only come from a mix-up of very different people and cultures clashing in the automotive world.
Recently, I was invited to record a number of episodes. The first one has just been released and records the many misadventures of my everyday Dodge Viper GTS. The adventures began on the race track and even includes a careless street driver causing an accident which totaled my prized exotic car. The video has already beat the VinWiki record for views in a 24 hour period and we think readers of Turnology will relate to and enjoy these crazy stories.
