When it comes time for you to upgrade the rearend gears in your 2015 and up Mustang, are you just trying to change the ratio, or do you want to add some strength to the gears? Well, US Gear has a solution for you that will allow both to happen with their new Super 8.8 IRS gear sets. These gears are designed to take serious abuse, add strength, and lower road noise.

When US Gear set out to design a new gear set for the Mustang they wanted a part that would last. Tommy Dewildt from US Gear explains some of the advantages the new Super 8.8 gears offer Mustang owners.

“The biggest advantage the Super 8.8 gears offer is the ability to really put horsepower down to the ground. These gears are available with our isotropic Lightening finish that helps the gear operate cooler, perform better, and run quieter. All of our splines on these gears are a rolled spline versus a cut spline, and that gives the gears more strength when you’re trying to put the power down.”

The Super 8.8 gears use US Gear’s new face-hobbing gear cutting technology that helps these gears perform better in many different conditions. This new gear cutting process makes the gear stronger, add a bigger gear pattern and provides more tooth contact. To make sure the Super 8.8 gears are strong enough for spirited driving on the street as well as track use, US Gear makes the gears out of 8620-grade steel. The Super 8.8 IRS gears are a part of the US Gear STEALTH line of products. The STEALTH gears are also available for the Dana 60 and Dana 60 PRO gears. These will also be included in the 9-inch gear line that US Gear will be launching in 2019.
