There are always plenty of cool cars on display at the SEMA and PRI shows, but we were particularly taken with the 1966 Chevy Surburban drawing crowds in the Mr Gasket booth.
Named “Lime Crush,” this classic from before people actually used the term “SUV” is striking with it’s vivid green body, white roof and satin trimwork. It’s no hot rod, and doesn’t really work as a shop truck, but can you imagine a cooler vehicle to take the kids to get ice cream in?
The brass at Mr Gasket made the excellent decision to hire the crew at The Roadster Shop to handle the build, and they finished this truck to their usual high standards. This ‘Burban is powered by a modified GM ZZ454 crate motor that’s been rebuilt with–you guessed it–Mr Gasket gaskets and engine hardware throughout. The distributor and coil are sourced from Mallory stock, and Accel provided the EFI system.
That gorgeous body sits on a new Fast Track custom chassis by The Roadster Shop. TRS also reworked all the wheel openings, tucked in the bumpers, and fabricated a completely custom grille. There are tons of other custom touches thoughout, such as front buckets from a ’61 Impala, a heavily reworked dash and hand-made floors cut from teak wood.
Check out the photos below, and for more information, we found this video from Mr Gasket and TRS documenting Lime Crush’s construction.
