Yenko is a name that’s associated with the Chevy Camaro hot rod Camaros. However, the Speciality Vehicle Engineering team thought it was time to throw some of that special SVE magic at the Silverado and create an 800-horsepower supercharged Yenko Chevy Silverado truck.
The V8 engine stuffed into the Silverado is a 6.8L built with all kinds of upgrades. These include tougher parts like a forged steel crank, forged connecting rods, forged aluminum pistons, and CNC posted cylinder heads. Atop the already powerful engine is a supercharger that brings the powertrain up to 800-horsepower and 750 lbs-ft of torque. The engine breathes through stainless steel headers, high-flowing catalytic converters, and a stainless steel dual exhaust system.
Providing stopping power are the six-piston Brembo brakes, and handling is sharp thanks to the lowering springs that lower the truck by 2” in the front, and a whopping 5” out back. Grippy Michelin Defender tires are wrapped around the 22” wheels that give the truck an aggressive stance.
The price of the SVE package starts off at $46,995, oh, but you have to actually buy the 2018 Chevy Silverado first, so you’re going to be dropping some major cash on a Yenko truck if you want one. Would you dish out the money for this truck? Or would you buy a pretty well-built crate engine and throw a blower on it instead? After all, $46k could buy a ton of mods!
