Borla set another milestone today by announcing the release of their all-new, 3-inch diameter S-Type and ATAK exhaust systems built specifically for the 2015 Ford Mustang GT when equipped with long tube headers. Unlike the Mustang GT systems Borla released earlier this year tuned for stock headers, these new systems (part numbers 140629 and 140630) are made from 3-inch diameter pipe and are tuned specifically to improve the sound and performance of long tube headers as well as other performance enhancers like super chargers, turbo chargers, engine tuners, and cold-air intake systems. In order to maximize the benefits of these performance upgrades, it’s critical to include an exhaust system that flows a larger volume of air, which is why Borla designed these two revolutionary exhaust options.
Crafted entirely from aircraft-quality, T-304 stainless steel, these systems scream performance from the start. Utilizing 3-inch tubing improves the modified Coyote engine’s ability to breathe by allowing the increase in exhaust gasses created by performance upgrades to flow with minimal resistance. The increased flow results in maximized performance throughout the power range, not only at wide-open throttle.
“To maximize the sound and performance of long tube headers, it’s an absolute must to pair them with a complementing exhaust system that is designed and tuned specifically to work with the sound and power modifications long tube headers provide,” said David Borla, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Borla. “We decided to craft our new 3-inch ATAK and S-Type systems because long tube headers dramatically alter sound, as well as performance, and enthusiasts with long tube headers have told us over and over that they need an exhaust system that completes the vehicle by giving them the sound and power characteristics they desire. Others have decided to enhance their Mustang with turbo chargers and other equipment, so we wanted to make sure we have an exhaust system that meets their needs as well. We pride ourselves on listening to our customers and we are very confident that these new systems will bring a whole new dynamic to those who track/race these amazing vehicles.”
While these systems are designed to work perfectly with all popular long tube header brands, Borla’s signature long-tube headers are currently in final development and there’s an even greater synergy when you pair these exhaust systems with Borla’s long tube headers. When combined with these 3-inch exhaust systems Borla’s Long Tube Headers provide a deep, throaty and aggressive exhaust note with no resonance offering improved throttle response and an average gain of 24 horsepower when tested on a dynamometer at sea level. The horsepower gains are throughout the entire RPM range which creates a feeling of consistent, readily-available power in all driving conditions.
For Mustang owners planning on adding headers or other performance parts in the future, these new 3-inch systems include adapters for easy integration with the stock catalytic converters.
All of Borla’s exhaust systems are made of 100 percent American-made aerospace-grade T-304 stainless steel, which provides lasting durability against rust and corrosion, and are backed by Borla’s Million-Mile Warranty.
