Monster Transmission and Thor Converters are the first and only company to offer this 4L65E single-clutch billet cover (For B85-style converters). Engineered to handle more horsepower and torque. We realized that nothing like this existed in the market, and being that we fully believe in being innovative, we took it upon ourselves to see to it that this specialty lid was created!

The man, the myth, and the legend, Danny Rottino, is a racing veteran with over 55+ years of experience in building high-performance torque converters. The head of Thor converters, Danny, came up with the idea when he realized the need and that there was nothing like this on the market.

The B85 converter is what mounts to GM’s LS-line of engines, which are renowned for performance upgrades. And although there are very strong performance upgrades for that converter, the lid was still a weak point. We realized that the need is definitely there, not only for performance enhancements, but for safety purposes as well.

Being that the B85 is a large-diameter torque converter, it is more prone to ballooning. The billet lid will now act as an anti-ballooning component, mediating this risk almost completely. The lid also makes your torque converter less prone to leaks and cracked pads because there are no welds in the one-piece design.

This is huge news for the performance automotive industry, and a problem solving innovation for torque converter companies, transmission remanufacturers, and performance junkies of all types.
