We’re used to seeing mini-to-midsize trucks slammed and modified, but we don’t often catch a full-size Silverado with tons of horsepower, not to say it doesn’t happen, but it’s not common. This turbocharged Silverado is not only rolling the quadruple digits, it’s also an extended cab, making it a whole lotta Chevy!
Adorn with the words “Stock is Boring”, this truck’s owner is a man of his word. The idea of building a full-size pickup truck is not something new, but it also presents its own set of challenges. This Chevy Silverado is majorly hooked up with go-fast goodies under the hook that help to get this fat truck into a power range that would make anything a total speed freak.
The centerpiece of this build is a 98mm Garrett GT55533r turbocharger that helps the 430 cubic inch LSX make 1,400-horsepower. This truck runs hard in the 1/4-mile, swinging deep into the 8s with an 8.60-second pass at 159-mph.
A mid 8-second truck is nothing to scoff about, this puts the truck into near record range. It would appear that the current Silverado record holder is a single cab with 427 cubic inch engine and Precision 114mm turbocharger. This smaller truck runs 8.07 @ 179-mph with 40 pounds of boost. This build makes 1,700-horsepower. On the other hand, the fastest 4-door Chevy Silverado has a top speed of 140-mph, just for perspective. This could possibly be the fastest extended cab Chevy Silverado out there!
