The Dodge Demon is a gift from Mopar that keeps giving, but if you’re expecting your Demon to run these kinds of record breaking passes, think again, not in stock form at least. It’s a car that will give you the ride of your life on the race track, and can easily earn you a ticket into the 200 mph club — not to mention the permanent smiles that will follow.
Johnny Bohmen is a 100% certified speed fanatic, and huge fan of standing mile top speed passes. He recently took a very slightly modified Dodge Demon to the edge at 203 miles per house. It only took this drag ready production car getting a ew modifications thrown at it for it to become capable of reaching these speeds in about a minute, which is scary and awesome.
In an ordinary Dodge Challenger Demon, you’re only going to be able to hit 168 mph, this is thanks to the speed limiter to keep you from shedding your Nitto tires at such high speeds. But, if you install the Dodge supplied Demon Crate Powertrain Module in your Demon, which does not have the limit of speed set to 168 miles per hour, you are good to go!
It’s still now, however, advised to do anything that will exceed the speed limit of the vehicle’s tires, so at least throw a capable pair on there if you decide that you are going to go for it! Also be advised that handling is going to be super sketchy at those speeds, so make sure you make any 200 mile per hour run attempts with amble space to do so.
