The Dodge Hellcat Challenger and Hellcat Charger each come with 707-horsepower, but if that’s not enough to satisfy your horsepower bug, Petty’s Garage will help you reach the quadruple-digit mark.
This extra power is thanks to a pretty major makeover, the crew replaces the stock powertrain with a 426 cubic-inch long block. To go with the engine swap, they also add Kooks Green catalytic converters and mid-pipes, and a stainless steel quad tip Magnaflow exhaust system. The shop isn’t just giving the cars more power with this package, they also give it chassis, exterior, and interior upgrades.
One Petty’s Garage made over Hellcat, owned by Patrick Lynch, was given improved handling with the factory ride quality with the use of specialty coilovers, rear shock brace, front and rear adjustable antiroll bars, and a stiffer rear cradle bushing.
With Petty’s Garage offering these kinds of packages, they are competing with the horsepower experts at Hennessey Performance. They offer similar upgrades with their HPE850 (an 850-horsepower package) and HPE1000 (an upgrade to 1000-horsepower). However, the Hennessey Performance horsepower package doesn’t change out the engine, but focuses on upgrading the supercharger.
The better package would come down to both preference, and price. And speaking of pricing, that’s something you’re going to have to find out about yourself, these guys aren’t about to advertise how much this will cost you…we’re guess it’s a lot though!
Which would you rather have to get to 1,000-horsepower? An upgraded supercharger? Or different engine?
