We’ve all seen the 2018 Ford Mustang by now, its face is no mystery to anyone at this point. Even though the changes seem fairly subtle, considering, it’s still got people arguing about — for better or worse. Half of the Mustang enthusiast community seem to appreciate the small refresh, going so far as to call it an ‘improvement’ over the current look — and the rest of you seem to hate it, there’s isn’t much in between on the 2018 model.
Love it or hate it, it’s still probably going to be a big seller amongst 2018 models, and the people who hate it now will get used to seeing it and move on. Okay, so I’ve droned on about the appearance for long enough, we finally know a few other things about it since someone (Ford, was that you?) leaked an official brochure. This is a fleet brochure, so individual/personal Mustangs may be differently optioned:
For 2018, Ford is adding two colors to its 11-color palette: Orange Fury Tri-Coat and the Crimson Metallic Tinted Clearcoat. There will also be a black accent package, and carbon sport interior package, those will likely do well amongst buyers. LED headlights are now standard, and so is the limited-slip differential. Adaptive cruise control, the Lane-Keeping system, and other similar safety features are available for a small upgrade premium.
One option we’re super impressed by for the 2018 Ford Mustang is the MagneRide Damping System. This system offers a softer and more compliment ride, until you hit the corners and the dampers stiffen up. So basically, body roll is controlled without sacrificing ride quality — total win-win!
Maybe this will make some people happy who aren’t crazy over the appearance, maybe not… Either way, it seems like Ford is doing something to keep it fresh for the upcoming year model Mustang.
