Last week, we told you that Dodge Demon was beginning to ship, and to add to the excitement on Mopar lots across the country, the new Trackhawk is starting to make it’s entrance as well! This SUV can dash to 60mph in the mid-3-second range, cover the 1/4 mile with a mid-11-second pass, and reach speeds up to 180mph.

The 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is the baddest SUV in the world; it has a top speed higher than that of the Dodge Demon, and 707-horsepower that makes it the quickest of its class. When FCA announced the rollout of the Trackhawk, it quickly became one of the most talked about new models coming to the market. Within its family of other Hellcat-powered models, like the Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger, the Hellcat group has captivated the attention of both the industry and the driver.

So what makes the Trackhawk so special? Obviously, it has a lot to with the power it makes, and how it uses it. The 707-horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque comes out of the powertrain into all four wheels thanks to an HD, high-tech AWD system. When the power hits the ground, the Trackhawk is able to act as the most powerful, fastest, and quickest production SUV sold in the world.

While this model has all the trappings of a modern day muscle car, let’s not forget it is still an SUV; so along with all this power and acceleration, you’re going to get a 5-passenger + cargo capacity, a spacious and comfortable interior, and the ability to tow up to 7,200lbs.

Interestingly enough, FCA didn’t even make an official announcement that the first units were being shipped along to dealers. It was mainly social media posts that helped spread the word. There are also plenty of pre-orders yet to be filled, but availability should be common by late spring.
