The original General Lee was a Dodge Charger, but there’s something about the modern Dodge Challenger that just wears the look so well. It gets even more interesting when this theme shows up on a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, like the one who is ready to take on the Lambo supercar in this video.
Inspired by the famous staring car from The Dukes of Hazzard, the guy who owns this Dodge Challenger Hellcat put on one heck of a show with the appearance combined with the sounds of the supercharger, or and the iconic General Lee horn.
This modern-day muscle car was not scared to take on some serious machines, including an Audi TT-RS, and Lamborghini. While it seems like the driver had some traction issues and other things keeping him from being able to unleash the full 707-horsepower fury of the Hellcat, watching the car put up a fight is still pretty awesome.
With good traction (the right tires) and a good driver, the Challenger needs to get off the line and get to 60 miles per hour in 3.6 seconds to run a 1/4-mile in the expected 11-second range, or lower. However, many have come forward to complain about the Hellcat’s tendencies to fishtail when launching, and we’ve seen plenty of races and videos to back this up.
In this video, the biggest threat to the Challenger isn’t the other cars, it’s the Hellcat’s complete lack of manners heading down the track. While it seemed to best quite a few of the cars, it looked heavy and awkward on some of the passes throughout the day.
