2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE

A perceived risk in the sharp exterior sculpting of the 1LE trim of the Camaro ZL1 will keep the trim from being sold in Europe. 

The ZL1 1LE is a Camaro with sharp and dynamic design characteristics. This helps to improve its performance on the track, but it’s also causing problems with the European market, mainly that it just won’t be approved for use in Europe. Regulator have supposedly found that the exterior additions of the 1LE will increase risk of injury in a pedestrian collision.

This isn’t an uncommon concern with European regulator, many cars come in a toned down version for the market, but the exterior design for the 1LE is integral, so it’s not like you can just pop off the pieces in question.

Ironically, it’s in Europe the ZL1 1LE has become a worldwide superstar as it owned the Nürburgring with a time of 7:16.04, which is 16 seconds faster the Ford’s Shelby Mustang GT350R.

The good news is, we’ll have plenty of opportunities to see the 1LE in the United States, and people looking for a modern American muscle car have one of the best options ever right now thanks to this.
