Dodge has created an absolute monster when they unleashed their Challenger Demon, and they want to make sure drivers are able to handle the drag-focused machine on public roads. They are now offering a no-cost drag racing course to all Dodge Demon owners so they know how to control their beast.
This move by Dodge might be on the heels of criticism by the media over putting such a high-horsepower production car out there, or maybe they’re just offering it as an extra incentive. Either way, who would argue over free racing lessons at the Bob Bondurant School of High-Performance Driving? When you purchase one of their 840-horsepower rear wheel drive Challenger Demons, that’s exactly what you get.
The purchasers can attend the course at Bondurant’s official NHRA drag strip at its HQ in Chandler, Arizona. It will consist of a one-day class. People who buy other SRT models by Dodge will get the option to add this class as an upgrade when they buy their high-performance Mopars.
Attendees will start the day off in a classroom for instruction on basic drag racing fundamentals like launching, staging, reaction time, signals, and safety checks. From there, they are taken to a drag strip to drive a variety of Dodge Challengers from the 485-horsepower SRT 392, to the 707-horsepower Hellcat, and, of Course, the 840-horsepower Demon.
Each driver in the class will get 22 1/4 mile runs down the track, but Dodge doesn’t provide an exact breakdown of which models those will occur in. While free for Demon owners, the buyers of SRT models will have to dish out $999 extra for the course. Non-SRT owners will have to pay $1999 to attend this special drag racing class.
