The Hot Rod Power Tour is one of the most anticipated events for automotive enthusiasts each summer. In 2015 the COMP Performance Group (CPG) brands will again be major players for the entire seven-day trip.
Kicking off in Madison, Wisconsin, and ending in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, this year’s Power Tour will cover some major cities throughout the Midwestern and Southern United States. On Tuesday, June 9, the tour will roll through CPG’s hometown of Memphis, Tennessee, where a number of special events are planned for both local attendees and Long Haulers making the full drive. As it did in 2013, COMP Cams will host a cruise night on world-famous Beale Street featuring 100 vehicles hand-selected from the Long Haul participants. The event has been deemed one of the best cruise nights in the country, with vehicle passes onto the famous street having become some of the most coveted items among the car and truck crowd.
Meanwhile, Memphis International Raceway will play host to a COMP Cams Engine Builder Duel that afternoon, where two-person teams will be pitted head-to-head to determine who can assemble and run a Small Block Chevy in the shortest amount of time. The winners will each receive $250 COMP Cams product certificates, while the runners-up will receive $125 COMP certificates for their efforts.
CPG will also host the popular Golden Ticket Contest again in 2015. At each stop throughout the week, CPG staff will be scouring the grounds for Long Haulers creatively supporting and promoting the COMP Performance Group brands including COMP Cams, FAST, TCI, RHS, Inglese, Quarter Master, ZEX, and Powerhouse Products. Up to 25 Golden Tickets will be presented, with one lucky contestant being chosen at random in Baton Rouge to win a $10,000 COMP Performance Group shopping spree. A custom banner signed by all Long Haulers is slated to be given away as part of a drawing on the event’s last day as well. CPG certificates and products worth $200-$500 will also be doled out as part of drawings at the FAST-sponsored Main Stage every evening. Participants must be present to win each prize.
The COMP Performance Group trailer will be in attendance at each stop, where technicians will be available to answer questions, provide advice, and sell parts and apparel – including a brand new $5 T-shirt. The week’s festivities are also sure to include plenty of surprises and even some special guests.
