Camaro GT4.R Heading to the Track

A new Camaro, the GT4.R, will debut this weekend at the Pirelli World Challenge race in St. Petersburg, FL. This GT4.R will be driven by Tony Gaples and campaigned by the Illinois-back Blackdog Dog Speed Shop. In addition to the GTS class, the GT4.R will also be entered in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge’s Grand Sport Class.

Chevrolet has built the GT4.R based on the production ZL1 1LE track-day special. The ZL1 1LE is powered by a 650 horsepower, supercharged LT4 that’s backed by a 6-speed transmission. This version has improved aerodynamics, alongs with a track adapted suspension that shows off its racing capabilities. The aggressive front comes at you with air deflectors and dive planes that give the Camaro added downforce over the production cars.
