The 2018 Mustang got quite a bit more than a few cycle updates, and that apparently has equated to the claim that it’s the quickest Mustang GT to date. TheĀ 460 horsepower, 420-pounds of torque making Mustang is capable of hitting 60 mph in under 4 seconds. If any other cars were hoping to knock it out of the spot of being the best-selling sports car in the United States, they’d better be prepared for war, because Ford certainly seems to be.
Ford was quick to note that the 2018 Mustang GT is faster than theĀ $94,000 Porsche 911 Carrera. The Mustang GT is getting its power from a 5.0L V8 that’s mated with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Ford claims that the new transmission offers quicker shifts and better low-speed response when compared to the outgoing six-speed automatic transmission. The new model is also equipped with Drag Strip Mode, a feature said to optimize torque.
More details will soon be known about the new Mustang over the next few weeks, putting other competitors on notice!
