COMP Performance Group™ Takes On Mission To Help Build Veteran’s Camaro
Pro Touring Modified Camaro will make the dream of a soldier, who is currently serving in Iraq, a reality

There is nothing like the element of surprise – as any military strategist will tell you. But in this case, the surprise will be on war veteran, Lieutenant Shawn Holland who is currently serving our country in Baghdad, Iraq.

The mission, as designed by Holland’s brother-in-law, Bryan Schoch, was to restore and “enhance” Holland’s personal Camaro, a vehicle in dire need of parts and workmanship to attain street-worthy status. A childhood dream for Holland before heading overseas was to restore the classic Camaro, a car similar to the one raced by Holland’s mother when he was a boy. It has become a personal mission of Schoch to make this surprise resto-mod effort come true.

Said Schoch, “Growing up, Shawn’s mother owned a 1967 Camaro, and he always talked about wanting to find a car like his mom’s old Camaro. He always pointed them out and commented about how they were like the one his mom raced. He is the kind of guy who will give you the shirt off his back if you need it and expect nothing in return. He is a caring man who wanted to protect our country and defend our freedom, and is now out doing just that. We want to give him something to show our thanks for protecting our freedom.”

The COMP Performance Group™ has engaged in this mission by contributing a ZEX™ GM LSX™ Nitrous System (Part #82235), a brand new product for the group, as well as the first ever “Life Time Discount” offered to Holland on any COMP Performance Group™ products. Both offers have been well received by Schoch who has targeted May as the wrap-up for the car in an effort to get plenty of time to shake out the bugs before Holland’s return in July 2008.

“We sincerely appreciate the help and support of companies like the COMP Performance Group™,” stated Schoch. “This is a huge undertaking for us. Without the support and contributions such as these, it would not have been possible. The generosity shown is incredible!”
