Reduced ratio rockers lessen spring pressure and lower lift for proper camshaft break-in
Proper break-in of high lift flat tappet camshafts in performance engines is often achieved by removal of the inner valve springs during the initial-start up period. This critical procedure can often be a time consuming and difficult process. To ease this process, COMP CamsŪ introduces Big Block Chevrolet Aluminum Break-In Rocker Arms that feature a reduced 1.5:1 ratio as opposed to the factory 1.7:1 ratio. With this reduced ratio, the effective camshaft lift and valve spring pressure are reduced for easier camshaft break-in.
