COMP Cams® and fellow COMP Performance Group™ companies, including TCI®, RHS™, FAST™, ZEX™, and Inglese™ made the trip to the 39th Annual NSRA Street Rod Nationals at the Kentucky Expo Center is Louisville, KY. This venue can hold 10,000+ street rods, and during the course of the four day event, some 100,000 people made their way through the grounds and facility during the blazing August heat in near 100 degree temperatures.
Automobiles in this particular car show must be pre-1948 and if you manage to visit the show, you will see everything from popular rat rods to multi-million dollar vehicles that are so rare and expensive that they are roped off in the main hall and you only get a glimpse from the outside. Even if you don’t enjoy the hobby yourself, you can still appreciate the beauty of these vehicles.
With a full eighteen wheeler full of product and displays set up inside the expo center, the COMP Performance Group™ personnel spoke with several hundred individuals over the course of the weekend and provided parts recommendations and technical advice, as well as sold parts and apparel.
Hundreds of other manufacturers were present, and if you wanted to purchase anything for your vehicle, this was the place to do it – everything from a chassis to custom paint colors to tires with custom color rims to neon clocks and t-shirts – you name it, somebody had it. All you had to do was look.
Another something special with this show was that the NSRA made accommodations for women and children who might not be so interested in car parts as their spouses and parents. A Woman’s World was set up in one area of the building and sold anything from perfume to handbags to wall hangings and everything in-between. And then there were all kinds of games and activities for children to participate in, including a coloring contest. What more could you ask for? A fun and activity packed event that had something for everyone in the family.
