At 415 horsepower and ft-lbs of torque, the new Pontiac G8 GXP is the fastest car Pontiac has ever produced. Based on the same platform as the upcoming Camaro and powered by a 6.3 liter LS3 V8, this four door sedan means business and is well equipped to battle the BMWs of the world. It isn't just a straight performer, this car comes with a stiff suspension that still provides a smooth daily driving ride, but can take sharp corners like a champ and power out of them hard. Just now, the reviews are coming in from the first drives.

The G8 GXP blitzes through the quarter mile in 13.0 seconds flat, and accomplishes 0-60 in just 4.7 seconds. Whats more, this is a car that can comfortably fit five adults or take the family out for a day at the track. Even better, at an off-the-lot price of around $40k, this is an engine with a well-supported after market that could easily be beefed up.
According to Jalopnik, who got a first look at the car before it goes on sale next February, the interior isn't up to par with Europe's best, and the gas mileage rating isn't exactly eco-friendly, but that isn't what you want this car for, is it?
