A couple weeks ago we brought you this unbelievable wreck from Bowman Gray Stadium, the track that brought us the show “Madhouse.”
That was pretty incredible, and we didn’t think anything that incredible would happen like that again, so we moved on. But it turns out at places like Bowman Gray lightening does strike twice.
Last time we had a car entering the track from the pit area at an incredbily bad time, this week we have a much more familiar scenario–two drivers losing their cool.
Derek Stoltz in the red 02 and Scott Hall in the silver 54 tangled under green, but then neither were exactly willing to let bygones be bygones and chaos erupts. And keeps erupting.
After making their best impression of a demolition derby, the 54 breaks from the confrontation only to have the 02 tear across the middle of the track in full chase. Thankfully, no one from the safety crew or any competitor’s cars were hit. And when it is all over we get a police escort off the track. There’s no doubt the fans in the stands got their money’s worth that night.
