Gordie Rutkowski was given a 1973 Plymouth Duster as a hand-me-down from his big sister. When he got it, it was powered by a 255-cubic inch slant six, which was backed by a 3-speed automatic transmission. When Gordie felt like the Duster needed more, the transformation began.
The first thing that changed about the car was a 318-cubic inch small block V8 with a nitrous kit. Up next were plans to paint the car, but that day never came, so it was left in pieces, where it sat and collected dust. Gordie got to thinking about complete chassises offered by Cleveland Performance, and an idea was born.
At first, Gordie’s idea was a little bit of a novelty, but it became a reality after taking some measurements and doing some planning. The rest took off from there.
As it sits now, the Plymouth Duster is riding on a Chevy Corvette C6 chassis, and is powered by a 6.0L LS2. The chassis was also enhanced with performance features, like an adjustable coil-over suspension, to make it an even better machine.
With these new upgrades, the Corvette is able to keep up with a Z06s at the track all day long.
