Matt Farah can’t stand Fords, yeah, of course we’re kidding, he loves them. He loves Fords so much that he can barely get himself through saying something nice about GMs, even really badass ones like the ZL1. That’s okay, the man is entitled to his preference in cars, and we respect his opinion. It does, however, come as no surprise to us to see him reviewing a second-generation Ford GT on a recent episode of The Smoking Tire, which is a rare opportunity for any automotive journalist to have, so props to him. In this full test of the Ford supercar, we’re sure Matt was miserable, but he hid it pretty well in this nearly five minute long clip of the web-series host driving the limited run machine around Angeles Forest.
Powering the Ford GT is a 647 horsepower twin-turbo 3.5L V6 engine that’s been tested by the top racing circuits in the world. The Ford GT is, surprisingly, only on its second generation, and may only be around for another year or so, and will only end up with about 1,000 total produced through until then. The owners of these cars are amongst some of the most popular names in the world, including politicians, sports stars, and movie stars. So, the fact that Matt Farah, with his many credentials, sure, is getting to review one is pretty special, and it feels like a win for us ‘little guys’ out there, even if we can only watch him have fun from behind our computer screens.
