Memphis, TN − 2012 NSRA Street Rod Nationals participants will get a chance to show off their engine building skills in the COMP Cams Engine Builder Duel on August 2nd–5th.
The COMP Cams Engine Builder Duel is one of the most popular events at major car shows around the country. In 2012, COMP will once again bring the competition to the 43rd Annual NSRA Street Rod Nationals, taking place at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, KY, on August 2nd–5th. The event annually features over 11,000 street rods and more than 30,000 visitors. The Engine Builder Duel, presented by Snap-On Tools, pits two, two-man teams against each other to see which one can completely assemble and crank a Small Block Chevy engine in the shortest amount of time. Equipped with nothing but their knowledge, contestants are given the appropriate parts and tools to complete the build, but may not ask questions of anyone in the crowd. First place winners will each be rewarded with a $250 COMP Cams gift certificate, while runner-up team members will each receive a $125 gift certificate. The Engine Builder Duel will take place at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Thursday, August 2nd, Friday August 3rd and Saturday, August 4th. The final round between the teams with the two fastest times will be held on Sunday, August 5th at 11 a.m. If you think you have what it takes to compete, email [email protected] with your name and your team member’s name for a chance to take part.
