The 2015 Engine Builder Duel rolls on during the last weekend in June, with four competitions scheduled to take place during the Street Machine Nationals at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds in Illinois.
The COMP Cams Engine Builder Duel has become one of the most popular and anticipated parts of car shows and automotive events nationwide. Four times throughout the weekend of Friday, June 26 – Sunday, June 28, the competition will pit two-person teams head-to-head at the Du Quoin Street Machine Nationals. Teams will race to assemble and fire a Small Block Chevy in the shortest amount of time, with engines required to run for 30 seconds. Participants are armed with only their knowledge and may not receive help from anyone in the audience. The winners each receive $250 COMP Cams product certificates, while the runners-up are each awarded $125 certificates from the valve train leader. The first Duel will be held on Friday afternoon, with two competitions taking place on Saturday before the festivities wrap up on Sunday morning.
