Michael Shank Racing Wins Rolex 24 At Daytona; Ford Sweeps Podium

A total of 58 cars began the 50th anniversary Rolex 24 at Daytona, but there could be only one winner.

After trying to win this race since 2004 and coming up empty eight times, team owner Michael Shank took his eponymous team to Victory Lane on the strength of a heroic three-hour final stint by NASCAR star AJ Allmendinger, who is also one of his partners in a new Indy car venture.

The 26th Annual Chili Bowl Takes Place This Week

Tulsa — The “super bowl” of midget racing gets underway on Tusday at the QuikTrip Center.

The 26th Chili Bowl Nationals will host more than 250 race teams from 32 different states and five countries. Practice took place all day Monday.

PASS To Return All American To 400 Laps At Nashville

Officials from the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) and Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville, TN have announced a major addition to the 2012 racing schedule.

The PASS South Super Late Models will stage a 400 lap event on Saturday, October 6th at the historic .596 mile Tennessee oval. The race will be highlighted by a return to its traditional 400 lap distance and will pay $22,000 to the winner. There will be an additional $20 per lap awarded to the race leader which could push the winner’s total to $30,000.

Safety Seminars Highlight Third IMIS Show

December’s International Motorsports Industry Show takes center stage as the latest in the whirlwind of off-season trade shows, from Dec. 8-10 at Indianapolis’ Indiana Convention Center.

Show times run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST on the Thursday and Friday, and 10 to 4 on Saturday. The third IMIS show expects to attract more than 20,000 attendees from the motorsports business.
