Drag Week 2012 Dates Announced: Convoy Rolls Out Sept. 9 In Tulsa

Courtney Force Joins JFR’s NHRA Funny Car Team With Traxxas Sponsorship

John Force Racing will be a four-car entity this year as Force’s daughter Courtney joins John, brother-in-law Robert Hight and Mike Neff as Funny Car drivers in NHRA’s Full Throttle Drag Racing Series.

Courtney Force had been testing a Ford-powered BrandSource Funny Car throughout the 2011 season in preparation for her leap to the professional ranks.

ADRL To Become First In Drag Racing To Allow EFI In Pro Stock

O’FALLON, Mo. — In a landmark move for the highly-competitive Extreme Pro Stock (XPS) class, the American Drag Racing League (ADRL) announced on Saturday that it will allow electronic fuel injection (EFI) on all XPS cars starting in the 2012 season.

The 2012 ADRL Tour starts on March 30-31 with Dragpalooza VIII at Royal Purple Raceway in Houston, the first of 10 events on the 2012 ADRL schedule.

Top NHRA Drag Racing Team Taps Persian Gulf Driver

Al-Anabi Racing, a leading team in the NHRA’s premier Full Throttle drag-racing series, said Wednesday that Khalid alBalooshi would drive one of its two top-fuel dragsters next season.

The team is owned by Sheikh Khalid Al Thani, a member of the ruling family of Qatar, and alBalooshi is a native of Dubai who has been racing Al-Anabi dragsters in the NHRA’s second-tier series and internationally.
